la nympheas

still in bloom...despite this late october date.  this is colorado, right?  the trees ablaze with golden light and not even a hint of frost in the air.  it seems unbelievable, but i captured this lone waterlily today at the denver botanic gardens in the pool of reflections.  and now i see what inspired monet to paint so many nympheas and the water around them.  how clearly i remember the day i sat in wonder at Musée de l'Orangerie in paris enraptured by monet's wall length canvases of these beauties.
